We understand why people say this. For years, many consumers had poor experiences with older aluminium coil technologies — leakage issues, corrosion problems, expensive servicing. This created a perception that aluminium itself was the problem.

But here's what most conversations miss: Not all aluminium technologies are the same.

At Optimist, we use Aluminium Alloy Microchannel Heat Exchanger technology — a completely different engineering approach from older aluminium systems. And instead of asking customers to blindly trust marketing claims, we decided to test it rigorously.

The real question is: How well is the system engineered?

Why We Conducted a 1000-Hour Salt Spray Test

Indian conditions are harsh for air conditioners: high heat, humidity, dust, pollution, coastal air, and acidic environmental exposure.

Instead of relying only on theoretical durability claims, we subjected our Aluminium Alloy Microchannel Heat Exchanger to an Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test based on ASTM B368 standards — an aggressive corrosion testing process designed to simulate harsh environmental exposure over extended durations.

Salt Solution: 5% NaCl solution with CuCl₂ additive in acidic pH environment

What Happened After 1000 Hours?

Visual Inspection Result: No corrosion or oxidation phenomenon observed on the specimen surface.

Functional & Performance Check: No leak found.

The report documented before-test and after-test sample images, along with intermediate testing stages. This matters because corrosion resistance is one of the biggest concerns consumers raise around aluminium-based systems. The test results validated the engineering and protection systems used in our heat exchanger design.
